If you want to buy web design, technology or hosting niche edits in 2026, published per-link rates run from about $60 to $85 at the low end to $360 to $450 for DR 45+ hosts, and the market average for a link insertion on a tech site is $168. What separates the vendors is not the price card. It is whether you see the host before you pay, how long the link takes to go live, and who can remove it afterwards.

We sell placements on tech, marketing and business portals we own and operate, so we are one of the options below. Every rate in the table was read on the vendor's own site in September 2026, with the date noted, and where another vendor fits a design studio, a host or a software company better than we do, we say so.

Why tech, hosting and web design links are priced the way they are

Technology is one of the most crowded link niches on the web. BuzzStream's August 2026 study of 421,259 sites put the average link insertion at $179 across all niches and at $168 for tech sites, which sounds cheap until you notice that only about 15% of sites sell insertions at all, and far fewer of those are real tech publications with steady readers.

Hosting is harder still. Hosting companies and hosting affiliates pay out on every signup, so the comparison queries ("best web hosting for small business", "cheapest WordPress hosting") are some of the most fought-over pages in affiliate SEO. That draws link sellers in large numbers, and a lot of what gets sold as a "hosting niche edit" is a paragraph on a general blog that has no hosting readers and links to twenty other hosts.

Web design sits at the other end. A design studio in Austin or Denver does not need hundreds of links. It needs a steady handful on sites that cover design, small business or marketing, pointed at the service and city pages that bring in project inquiries. The budget is smaller, so the cost of one bad link is proportionally bigger.

Tech link vendors compared on price, speed and host approval

We checked the pages ranking for "buy technology niche edits", "buy web design niche edits" and "buy hosting niche edits" in September 2026. They are generic niche edit sales pages and marketplace gig lists, and none of them compares vendors for tech buyers on price. The table covers vendors whose terms we could read on their own site that month.

Two patterns are worth noticing. The cheapest per-link options (SERPninja and Rhino Rank) are also the ones where you do not choose the site. And the vendors that do let you approve the host cost between $180 and $450 a link, except where the seller owns the publication. That trade-off between price and control is the whole buying decision for most tech companies.

Buy web design niche edits for a design studio or agency

A web design studio should point most paid links at two kinds of pages: service pages ("Shopify web design", "WordPress development") and city pages ("web design agency Austin"). Those are the pages that rank for searches that turn into a project brief. Portfolio pages and the homepage get a smaller share.

The right host is a site about small business, marketing, ecommerce or design, not a general tech news blog. A link from an article on choosing a website platform for a new restaurant is worth more to a local studio than a link from a gadget review, even at a lower DR. Two or three good placements a month is enough for most studios in a mid-sized US market.

Studios that resell links to their own clients have a second job: margin. If that is you, our comparison of niche edit vendors for agencies covers bulk thresholds, unbranded reports and whether you can show a client the host before paying.

Buy hosting niche edits for a host or a hosting affiliate

Hosting buyers need to be pickier than anyone else in this table, because the niche is full of sites built to sell links. Before paying, check that the host actually publishes hosting, WordPress, developer or small-business content, that its traffic has held steady for a year, and that the article your link goes into does not already link to a dozen competing hosts. A page that lists every host with an affiliate link is a coupon page, not an editorial mention.

Anchors matter here too. Exact-match anchors like "best cheap web hosting" are the fastest way to make a hosting link profile look bought. Keep most anchors branded or descriptive and send them to comparison and plan pages rather than the checkout.

A link that ranks a hosting comparison page is only half the work, because that page still has to convert a reader who has four other hosts open in tabs. Hosts that show real customer quotes on the plan page tend to win that last step, and if you have not started collecting them, a simple tool for collecting customer testimonials is a cheaper fix than another link.

Buy technology niche edits for software and IT services

Software companies, IT managed service providers and developer-tool vendors buy tech links for comparison and category pages: "best help desk software", "managed IT services Chicago", "alternatives to" pages. These pages compete with review sites, so they need links from hosts a buyer would actually read, such as tech publications, B2B blogs and industry sites.

If you sell SaaS specifically, our roundup of SaaS link vendors compares vendors on the pages a SaaS team needs to rank. For IT services and B2B technology firms, B2B link building shows how placements on business and tech portals work when we run the host.

How to vet a tech host before you pay for a niche edit

Run each proposed host through these checks. It takes ten minutes per site and it is the step most buyers skip.

  1. Does the site publish tech content for real readers? Look at the last twenty articles. A mix of crypto, CBD, travel and "best VPN" posts in one week means a link seller.
  2. Is the traffic steady? A year-long flat or rising trend is fine. A spike followed by a cliff usually means a site that was hit by an update.
  3. What is the outbound link pattern? A site that links out far more than it is linked to, worse than about four to one, is usually selling links in bulk.
  4. How many other commercial links are in the article? One or two is normal. Ten hosting affiliate links in one post is a red flag for a hosting buyer.
  5. Who controls the page afterwards? On an outreach placement, an outside editor can remove or edit the article at any time. Get the replacement terms in writing.

How much should a tech company spend on niche edits each month?

A realistic link budget for a small or mid-sized US tech company is $500 to $3,000 a month. At the rates above, that buys roughly 3 to 15 placements depending on the vendor and the DR tier. A local web design studio can often move with two or three a month; a hosting company competing on national comparison terms usually needs more, and should expect to pay the upper end for hosts it can trust.

Work backward from the pages you need to rank. If three pages matter and the results above them have 30 to 80 referring domains, compare vendors on the cost of one acceptable host rather than the headline price. On an owned network, one to three placements a month costs $199 to $499 on our plans, and the Scale plan adds a strategist and anchor planning for eight a month.

Are niche edits better than guest posts for tech sites?

For most tech buyers, yes. A niche edit goes into an article that is already indexed and may already rank, so it can pass value sooner than a new guest post that has to earn its own place, and it usually costs less. Guest posts win when you want a full article on a topic you choose, such as a product launch or an original benchmark.

How an insertion looks on the page and what you get with one is covered on niche edits, and current market rates by Domain Rating are on niche edit pricing.

Where to buy tech niche edits with the host named first

If you know which service, city or comparison pages need links, the quickest route is to choose hosts you can read before paying. On BacklinkPlace you browse our tech, marketing and business portals, see each one's Domain Rating and live Google Analytics traffic, and order the placement at $161 to $199 with writing and disclosure included. It goes live in about a week on a publication we run, so it does not disappear when an outside editor prunes old posts. Plans start at one placement a month on our pricing page, and you can cancel anytime.
