If you want to buy cybersecurity niche edits in 2026, published rates run from $99 for a single do-follow link on a specialist security blog, through $89 to $259 for a DR 30 to DR 60 edit from a general vendor, to $440 and more per link inside a managed B2B package. Cybersecurity is not a restricted category, so nobody should charge you a topic premium. The price follows the host. What separates a useful link from a wasted one is whether the host page is read by people who buy security products, and you can only judge that by seeing the page before you pay.
We run a publisher network of our own and sell these placements, so we are one of the options compared below. Every rate was read on the vendor's own page or price card in September and October 2026, with the date shown, and where another vendor suits a security company better than we do, the table says so.
The buyers here are US security software vendors, managed security service providers, compliance and penetration testing firms, and the agencies that run their SEO. They sell to IT directors and security leads who research for weeks before a demo, and almost every one of those buyers starts with a search such as "best endpoint detection for small business" or "SOC 2 penetration testing cost".
Contract values make the arithmetic generous. A managed detection contract or a mid-market software seat license is often worth $15,000 to $60,000 a year, so a comparison page that moves from position 9 to position 4 and produces two extra demos a month pays for a year of links with one closed deal. That is also why the competition is heavy: the pages on top belong to vendors with thousands of referring domains and to review publishers that have covered the category for a decade.
Three things make this vertical harder than most. First, the supply of real security publications is small. BuzzStream's August 2026 study of 421,259 link-selling sites found that only 143 sites, 0.34 percent of those with complete data, were both high quality and willing to sell insertions, and technology hosts averaged $168 per insertion. A vendor promising fifty "cybersecurity" links a month is almost certainly using general tech blogs that publish anything.
Second, the reader is technical. A link dropped into an article that confuses a firewall with an antivirus product does your brand no favors with the engineer who reads it. Third, new categories have very few host pages at all. If you sell something recent, such as prompt injection protection for AI agents, there may be only a few dozen articles on the open web that discuss your problem accurately, and a bulk vendor will not find them for you.
The pages that rank for this search are general pricing guides, one agency's digital PR page and offshore vendor pages with no rates. Nobody compares security link vendors on price. The table below sticks to vendors whose rates we could read, with the date, so you can compare like with like.

Read across the "see the host first" column. Only two rows say yes without a qualifier: the single security publisher, which is one domain, and our own network. Every other model asks you to trust the vendor's pick, which matters more in a technical vertical than anywhere else.
Expect $90 to $260 for a niche edit on a DR 30 to DR 60 host from a per-link vendor, $250 to $450 at DR 50 to 69 from a specialist agency, and $440 to $480 per link inside a managed package. Security carries no topic surcharge the way casino or crypto does, so a quote far above these ranges is paying for the agency, not the host.
For a sense of the market as a whole, BuzzStream's August 2026 data put the average link insertion at $179 and the average guest post at $461. Price climbs with traffic more reliably than with DR: its traffic ladder never inverts, while its DR ladder dips between DR 40 and 49. Pay for readers on the host page. Our niche edit pricing page breaks these ranges down by vertical.
Yes, when the target is a page that already converts. Security buyers search before they talk to sales, and the comparison and pricing queries they use are won by pages with strong link profiles. One or two relevant links a month to a product or comparison page ranking between 6 and 15 is where the spend returns fastest, because a single closed contract covers the year.
It is not worth it when the links point at a blog post nobody buys from, or when the site has no page that matches a commercial query yet. Build the comparison page first, then buy the links. Our SaaS link building page explains how we pick targets for software vendors.
A good host is an article a practitioner would read: a guide to hardening remote access, a breach write-up, a compliance checklist, a comparison of tool categories. It should rank for something on its own, sit on a site with a named editorial team, and discuss your category accurately. Domain Rating alone tells you none of that.
Hosts to avoid are easy to spot once you see the page. A "technology" blog that also publishes casino reviews and payday loan advice, an article with five unrelated outbound links in one paragraph, or a site whose traffic graph is flat at zero. This is the reason host approval matters, and it is what contextual backlinks on portals we run are built around.
For most US security vendors and MSSPs, the best service is one that shows the host article before you pay, at $150 to $300 a link, so a technical person on your team can approve it. A specialist publisher is the cheapest way to reach a security audience on one domain. Funded vendors chasing top-tier press should budget for a digital PR retainer instead.
Match the model to the budget. Under $500 a month, buy one or two approved placements and point them at your strongest commercial page. Between $500 and $5,000, three to eight placements a month across different hosts is a normal B2B pace; see B2B link building services. Above that, a retainer such as uSERP buys coverage a per-link vendor cannot.
We own and run the portals we publish on, so you choose the exact host, read its DR and its Google Analytics traffic, and approve it before you pay. Placements cost $161 to $199 each on a monthly plan, starting at $199 for one a month, and our editors write the insertion and the context around it. We are not a security-only publisher and our catalog is far smaller than a marketplace. What you get is a host page your team has checked and a link that no outside webmaster can remove later.
To start with one commercial page, pick a host on our backlink marketplace and compare the plans on pricing. Agencies buying for several security clients can use the Growth and Scale plans, which cover three and eight placements a month.
